SEARCHING FOR EXCELLENCE & DIVERSITY: A Cross-College Workshop Series for Faculty Search Committees Workshop 2 (back)

Description:
WISELI’s workshop series for chairs and members of faculty search committees consist of two sessions. Both sessions rely on active learning principles and encourage small groups of search committee members to learn from each other’s experiences. Each session is described below:

Session 2: Participants will report on their recruitment efforts, their satisfaction with the diversity and excellence of their applicant pool, and on how their committees relied on information from research on bias and assumptions to evaluate applicants. This session will focus on how to run fair and effective on-campus visits and interviews for final candidates, revisit issues related to the evaluation of these candidates, and present strategies for successfully hiring candidates offered a position.
