Thrive@UW-Madison: Expanding Self-Knowledge to Create Inclusive Environments  (back)
 
Description:
In this interactive session, participants will have opportunities to expand their self-awareness through an exploration of their own personal and social identities, their impact on work relationships, and develop strategies and approaches that allow for the development of inclusive work environments.

After completing this session, participants will…
• Be able to define inclusion and describe its value in the workplace
• Analyze the role of personal and social identities on perspectives, actions, and decision-making in the workplace
• Explain the influence of dual cognitive processing on workplace decision making
• Analyze the impact of unconscious biases and microaggressions on work relationships
• Identify and implement strategies to enhance decision-making through increased self-awareness
• Be prepared to model inclusive behaviors that contribute to a positive work environments

This is an all-day learning event, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an hour provided for participants to have lunch on their own. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.

There are a number of eateries within walking distance of 21 N. Park St. for participants looking for lunch options.

Parking is available on site; however, space in the lot at 21 N. Park St. tends to fill up quickly. Participants may want to consider arriving early to ensure the availability or parking or consider alternate means of transportation.

In the event this session is full, a waitlist is available. You are encouraged to add yourself to the waitlist as additional seats may become available.You will be notified by email if a spot opens up for you at the event.
