To introduce the participant to basic safety skills in an ongoing educational effort to instill a culture of safety. Introductory topics include: Safety responsibilities, hazardous materials, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), AED/CPR, first aid, dress code and safety implications, SDS (Safety Data Sheets) procedures of handling dangerous materials, SPPC (Spill Prevention and Pollution Control) environmental safety, shop safety, intro to safely using tools and equipment. In addition, emphasizing the need to perform a safety self-assessment before proceeding with assigned activities.
