This module is designed to give the participant a thorough understanding of the responsibilities of a traffic control worker. Participants will receive both classroom, hands-on training and practice in the proper procedure of traffic control. Topics covered are lane closures on freeways, expressways, and public roads, identify equipment needed for lane closures, identify areas of a traffic control zone, describe and demonstrate sign and cone spacing for freeway and expressway closures, describe and demonstrate taper lengths for freeway and expressway closures, demonstrate proper set-up of required signs and demonstrate proper set-up and removal of lane closures.
