Lane Hanson from the Center for Patient Partnerships will share information about local summer and semester-long internship opportunities working directly with community members and UW Health patients to connect them to social and legal resources. Students in the Resource Navigator Program also complete a 3 credit course (Legal St 473) alongside the internship, which counts as a field experience for students in the Certificate in Global Health and as a depth course for students in the Global Health Major. Students learn about the important links between basic needs and health, interact directly with patients to help them meet their needs, and learn important patient advocacy skills. This information session is primarily intended for undergraduate Global Health students, but open to all UW-Madison undergraduates. Come join us to learn about this unique, high-impact opportunity and enjoy some free Ian's pizza!
