Description: If you are a UW-Madison employee who may retire in the next 5 years,* this session is for you. Learn the process by which you retire from the UW-Madison, from giving notice to choosing your pension design to your insurance options and costs following end of employment.
Choose from available live virtual sessions. On the day of the session, you can access the session online using your computer, smartphone, or by calling in. Pre-registration is required. Information for review before we meet and instructions on how to join the session at its scheduled time will be emailed to you before the session.
Topics include: • What is the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS)? • Retiree health insurance and how you’ll pay for it • Other insurance at end of employment • How does Medicare coordinate with your future retiree health plan? • Your pension: how is it calculated and how may it change year by year?
*All are welcome, but if you’re more than 5 years from retirement, our Starting to Save or Mid-Career Retirement Check-In sessions for new or mid-career employees may be more relevant.
