This role-specific training is designed for individuals serving as Authorized Adults in youth activities. An Authorized Adult is an adult working or volunteering in a youth activity or third-party youth activity who has been authorized to interact with youth participants following completion of screening and training requirements but is not authorized to provide custodial care.
The training fulfills the requirements of the Youth Protection Policy (UW-1045) for Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect. It also reviews youth protection best practices, appropriate interactions with youth participants, and prohibited conduct to help promote a safe environment for minors.
