This course is designed for employees who, as part of their duties, buy goods and services for their departments. This is an entry-level overview to provide the tools necessary to make common purchases. It will cover basic purchasing rules and the best ways to make a purchase - when to use Shop@UW, a purchasing card, or a simplified bid. We will go over the stages of a purchase, where to find answers, and who to call for assistance. It will include how to find answers using Purchasing’s website and how to use other available resources. This class will be most beneficial to those who are new to purchasing at the University.
