Volunteer Tutors Needed

Cultural Linguistic Services, within the Office of Human Resources, is in need of tutors to help UW-Madison employees develop their learning in areas such as: English language, literacy (English and Spanish), writing, math, and other subjects. Scheduling and meeting locations are flexible. To become a tutor, complete an application or contact Jzong Thao at jzong.thao@wisc.edu.

Level 4 Leadership Community

We are experimenting with a new “Level 4 Leadership Seminar,” using the skill level defined in our Competencies Matrix. This has been a highly personalized seminar, using the practical challenges being faced by participants as the canvas from which to draw strategies for success. The idea is also to sustain the cohort’s relationships in a manner that (a) continues to provide support to one another, and (b) creates a structure for them to mentor the next Level 4 cohort, as well as other colleagues at various stages of professional development.

Level 5 Leadership Community

The Level 5 Engaged Leadership Community formed in May 2011 as an outgrowth of the “Level 4 Leadership Seminar” that Learning and Talent Development has been conducting since 2007. Level 5 members seek to create a space in which they are able to collaborate with one another to respond to key challenges facing the University at this complex and important time. By identifying their collective resources, they have begun to address some critical issues, engaging with others beyond the group in order to broaden the circle of talent that may be applied to any given issue. As this learning community is still emerging in its form and membership, specific meeting times and programs are not yet available to post here.
